Talking about Tesla

Elon Musk is taking the American government apart.

In office after office around the nation's capital, Musk employees and former interns are displacing government workers, stripping public records, and feeding our private data into Musk's computers.

We can't all go to Washington, D.C. to protest. But we don't have to. Across the United States, Americans are showing up to Tesla dealerships. The message is simple: Elon Musk should stop wrecking our government and start doing his day job.

In Ann Arbor, Indivisible members are partnering with the national Tesla Takedown group to hammer this message home. Some people protest every week; sometimes Ann Arbor Indivisible comes out en masse.

Ann Arbor Indivisible members protest Tesla

The first Ann Arbor Indivisible Tesla action gathered "a whole block" of protesters, one member recalls, with drivers on Jackson honking in support. This month, in the run-up to Mother's Day, she brought "my daughter who's eleven."

The continued pressure from Americans large and small is having an effect. Watching their tumbling stock, Tesla shareholders forced Elon Musk to promise to step back from DOGE. There's more work to do, since we can't count on the billionaire's promises. But we can count on Indivisible members to keep showing up.
